Hope you have time to rest, recharge, and play with some paper and glue over the holidays. 🎄

Peachtree Recitals

Three shows in one day ! My super tired selfie is an accurate depiction of last weekend. Lol

But I am SO proud of all three of my modern classes who gave such heartfelt performances.

And all the brave littles who were probably onstage for the first time ! 🌟

Rehearsal Smiles

“Nothin’ I can see but you, when you dance, dance, dance, dance…”

All smiles after rehearsal. Bringing “Dare You to Move” to life for @danceatlanta’s A.M. Collaborative program !

Udemy Art Therapy : Prompt 6

What would your paintings say, if you gave them a voice ?

This was the *very* interesting 6th prompt from my online @udemy art therapy course. I was a little intimidated when I first started the task, but totally into it, once the thoughts started to unfold. 😃

My paintings would be bold, of course ! Strong in color choice and placement, they would be serious about whatever they needed to say. Lol

Swipe through to see the three pieces I picked to analyze, along with the “voices” I imagined for them. 🎨

This prompt revealed some very unexpected and unusual things !

Confrontation

Confrontation !  ... between characters 1 & 3...

“Dare You to Move” is a trio piece, set alongside story and poetry, as a part of @danceatlanta’s A.M. Collaborative program.

Filmed at @en_pointe_school_of_dance

Beautiful music by @vitaminstringquartet

Choreography by yours truly, René Nesbit

Can’t wait to put all three pieces together and pair with @thegreenchest’s writing !

(Oh, and the bear ears are from Halloween. Lol)

"galaxies"

“galaxies” …

…a poem from my book, A Branch, A Few Words

You can listen to it on my YouTube channel, at the handy link below.

Thankful

Thankful for a lot of things, but most especially my painting, signing baby. 😊

I hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday season... and that you have a chance to make something colorful soon, too.

Birdsong (gifted)

For my friend, Noelia aka @upwardcloset. 💞

From her favorite quote, "Why do you try to understand art? Do you try to understand the song of a bird?"

~Pablo Picasso

Sidenote : That bird was super hard to draw and I should definitely do a practice one next time, before I attempt it on the page. Hahaha...
